See the detected notes on a piano roll and listen to them before you download anything.

  3. Step 3

    Download the MIDI file

Open it in FL Studio, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, GarageBand or any DAW and edit it like any other MIDI clip.

Frequently asked questions

How large can my WAV file be?

Up to 60 MB and 5 minutes — enough for 5 minutes of 16-bit stereo WAV at 44.1 kHz. For longer or higher-resolution files, export a shorter section or convert to FLAC first.

Is WAV better than MP3 for MIDI conversion?

Usually a little: WAV and FLAC keep every detail, while MP3 compression can smear quiet or very high notes. A clean recording matters more than the format.

Can I convert a stem from my DAW?

Yes. Bounce a single instrument (for example a piano, bass or lead stem) to WAV and upload it — single-instrument stems give the best MIDI.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

Yes, it is free and you do not need an account. Each visitor can convert up to 10 files and download 2 MIDI files per day (UTC). Previewing on the piano roll does not count as a download.

What happens to the files I upload?

Your audio and the MIDI result are used only to run the conversion and are deleted automatically within 48 hours.

Can it turn a full song into MIDI?

A full mix with drums, bass and vocals only gives a rough draft. Splitting a whole song into one MIDI track per instrument is planned as a separate feature.
